J. Thomas' debut novel was Red Flags & Broken Promises and it was released on Kindle Direct Publishing on the 13th of September 2023.

The book focuses on the life of Lexie who is trapped in an abusive marriage and does not believe there is a way out.

She unwittingly attracts the attention of an eligible bachelor who sees through the facade of the perfect marriage, to the pain that she lives in. 

The book deals with the harrowing and very prevalent subject of domestic violence while showing the value of friendship, faith, love and the unwavering strength of a woman.
